Meet The Team
Dr. Michael VanDerschelden, DC
My name is Dr. Michael VanDerschelden, or Dr. Van as most people call me. I am a passionate advocate of natural healing, a best selling author, a wellness champion, and a visionary who has implemented much-needed changes to our current health care system. As a frequent lecturer, I continue to educate on the importance of stem cell therapy and regenerative medicine, emphasizing that there is much more to health than treating symptoms.
I am the clinic director and doctor of WEST2NORTH MEDICAL SOLUTIONS here in North County San Diego. It is absolutely rewarding to see firsthand how stem cell therapy, regenerative medicine, hormone therapy, chiropractic, and functional medicine continues to transform patients’ quality of life! My sole motivation is to provide you with relevant and accurate health information so you can reach your goal of living the best and healthiest life possible!
After attending Auburn University to pursue a degree in Nursing and transferring to Southern Union College to complete my degree in Applied Science, I decided to continue my education and found interest in more holistic and natural healing approaches at The Montgomery School of Bodywork and Massage.
This school changed my life! I pursued Massage therapy and the study of Ancient and Cultural healing modalities. After moving to Colorado in 2009 I started my journey working as a Massage Therapist alongside Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, and Functional Medicine doctors. I completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program at The River Yoga studio and began teaching yoga while practicing Massage therapy.
In 2015 I accepted the position of Office Manager at Denver Spine and Posture Center, an office specializing in chiropractic, physical medicine, and stem cell therapy. As patients quality of life improved, so did our office, which eventually lead to the expansion of four more offices and a name change to West2North Medical Solutions.
In October 2018, I moved to North County San Diego to open up the newest location of West2North Medical Solution alongside the clinic director – Dr. Michael VanDerschelden.
Outside of my huge passion for healthcare and promoting a healthy, happy life to our patients, I love to explore the cities I’ve lived in as well as the nature surrounding them. I make giving back to my community a priority in my life by volunteering for different causes throughout the year, and I cherish time with family and friends and have a deep appreciation for music.
April Theisen PA-C
I started my career in medicine serving my community as a Paramedic Firefighter for 10 years. As my interest in medicine grew I attended the University of Washington School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program graduating with honors in 2004. I chose to work in multiple areas of medicine including hematology/oncology with stem cell transplantation. In 2008, I completed a critical care fellowship from Oregon Health Sciences University. I provided care as an internist and in the ICU as well as volunteering in the homeless veterans’ clinic, and traveling to Mexico for medical mission work, until a debilitating accident in 2010.
After years of pain, multiple surgeries, and countless procedures to repair fractures, nerve and soft tissue damage, I sought out regenerative medicine experts. I was fortunate to experience first-hand the incredible capability of ultrasound diagnostics and the effects of regenerative medicine with stem cell therapy and PRP injections.
After regaining my health, I focused my education to support the evolving practice of stem cell therapy and regenerative medicine. In 2015 I became the first Physician Assistant to complete the Emergency Medicine Fellowship in Ultrasound at the University of California Irvine School of Medicine and continued to volunteer teaching medical students and residents the clinical capabilities of ultrasound diagnostics. Since 2014 I have traveled all over southern California working with doctors preforming injections and utilizing ultrasound.
My less conventional path continued, and I obtained training in bio-identical hormone replacement methods. I am passionate about bringing a full sense of vitality to our patients with regenerative medicine for chronic pain, neuropathy, joint conditions, sexual health, erectile dysfunction, urinary incontinence and anorgasmia. I find the combination really helps improve relationships and quality of life for many of my patients.
In November of 2017 West2North Medical Solutions opened its 4thlocation in San Marcos, California and I finally found my home and team to implement my dream of helping more people with stem cellular therapy and PRP.
I am passionate about treating the whole patient and acknowledge that life, stress, and hormone imbalances play a key role in the body’s ability to heal itself. Our team is committed to assisting our patients and community in reaching their goals of healing with continued health and longevity.
My name is Liliana Lindsey. I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, where I grew up loving to hike along the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, spend summers at Coors Field watching baseball, and working as an assistant manager of a young girls clothing store.
I moved to California in January of 2017, when I married my, now, husband who is serving in the Marine Corps. I have since found myself at West2North Medical Solutions where I have become incredibly passionate about the mission this foundation achieves every day by helping people live a happier healthier life. I hope to impact so many others in the future by helping them feel better, and get their health back to where it should be.
Zachary J. Strombeck
My name is Zachary J. Strombeck. I am a patient educator at West2North Medical Solutions and I could not be more thrilled about what I do!
A little about me: I attended Northern Arizona University studying Communications and Public Relations. I have pursued multiple independent works in financial advisement and wealth management. Lastly, I have worked with
multiple non-profits around the world which led me to create my own.
The passion and drive to help others has also been a big part of my upbringing and I am beyond blessed with the opportunity to be apart of the stem cell and regenerative medicine industry here with West2North Medical Solutions. Being able to change lives and reshape the foundational flaws that currently haunt our healthcare system and giving people a better, natural approach to completely heal and remove pain. The number one priority is to help and make a positive difference in as many peoples lives as we can and to show them there is more than just “one last desperate option.”
